Tim Knight

Tim Knight is the President and Creative Director for Strathcona Beer Company. In addition to the brewery, Tim is also a Director and Senior Project Manager for one of BC’s premiere General Contractors, Heatherbrae Builders, a family-owned and operated company founded by his father, Mike Knight, in 1989.

His strong connection with Vancouver’s Strathcona neighbourhood dates back to 2002 when he purchased his first home on Keefer Street, just two blocks from the future brewery. In 2009 Tim, relocated across the city to support his growing family; his wife, Aerin, and two small children, Charley and James. He has always maintained his connection to the city’s oldest residential neighbourhood and is actively working on several community construction projects in the immediate area.

When approached by a few friends connected to the neighbourhood about the possibility of opening a brewery on East Hastings, Tim recognized another opportunity to continue to grow his roots in Strathcona. Once the location was secured it only made sense to name the brewery Strathcona Beer Company, after the heritage neighbourhood in which it was founded.

Tim’s experience over the last 20 years managing large scale construction projects across the Lower Mainland has garnered a valuable asset to the Brewery’s design direction and project management. His interests in interior design, art, music and surfing have influenced the philosophy of the brand.

Business interests outside of his full-time construction career have included several restaurants, a night club, a partnership in ALIFE NYC, Circle Snowboard and Skate shop in Whistler, and various property developments.
